Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir to coach UFC's Ultimate Fighter Season 13?

Speculation is circulating that Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir will be coaches for Season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter, but any plans could now be scrapped with talk of a Mir vs Brendan Schaub bout early next year

With just weeks to go until the next season of TUF starts filming, it remains to be seen who the two coaches will be.

Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva's names have been mentioned, as have Miguel Torres v Urijah Faber.

But neither pairing is set in stone and factors could prevent either duo from being seriously considered, but it appears that Lesnar and Mir's names have also been in the frame.

On Tuesday, it also emerged that Frank Mir could next face Brendan Schaub - possibly next March, with MMAJunkie.com reporting that Mir has verbally agreed to fight TUF 10 finalist Schaub early in 2011.

UFC president Dana White has admitted that he is yet to make a decision on who will coach the next batch of UFC hopefuls and told MMAFighting earlier this week: "I really don't know what we're going to end up doing. I've got a board with a list of things that need doing, and this is one of the big ones, but it depends on a lot of things.

"Here's the one thing I know: I have to make a decision really soon."

Whether six weeks of coaching would appeal to Lesnar, who likes to keep himself to himself whenever he's not fighting, remains to be seen, although there is no doubt that a third Lesnar v Mir pay-per-view main event would do huge business with a season of TUF build.

Lesnar and Mir have faced each other twice, with Mir winning at UFC 81 in Lesnar's UFC debut, and Lesnar then beating Mir at UFC 100.

Lesnar has not been seen after losing to Cain Velasquez in the main event at UFC 121 in October in their UFC Heavyweight championship bout.

The former champion has been spending time with his family and hunting but made a low-key appearance at an autograph signing last week.

Talk of a return to the WWE - his former employers before he made the move from pro wrestling to MMA - continues to be a topic of conversation, with the WWE wanting Lesnar back for their WrestleMania pay-per-view next spring, despite WWE's plans for Lesnar to return to wrestle The Undertaker being scrapped due to UFC president White insisting Lesnar would not be allowed to wrestle.
